A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

The Contract is a furry interactive story that has three different endings which depend on the progress and selection which you have made. The stories of the characters are revealed as you continue to collect the required and hidden items. And if you make the "right" choices, you may even reach the "best" and "cutest" ending...

This is a short individual project that I was working on for my university's course to celebrate Christmas~ There is a known issue about the background music but it won't affect the gameplay, hope you enjoy the game even though Christmas has already ended XP

is there a quick save option?

(+1)

Unfortunately, no 😞 It is a pretty short game though so it should take around 15 minutes to finish!

good shit

how do I start the game?

Hi, sorry for the delay in reply! If you are downloading the Windows version, you will have to unzip it first and open the "The Contract.windows64" folder, there should be an application file inside called "christmas_card". That's the game file that you will have to run to play the game! :D

Thank you

will there be a linux port?

(+1)

Yes, I should be able to export the project into a Linux port quite easily, I will try to upload it later this week if I have time

I just uploaded the Linux version and you can try it out!

I really like the art style, unfortunately after talking to timothy the screen went black

Have you tried the fix in the comment below? x(

Yeah I looked in the comments for possible solutions first, so I downloaded the updated version of Java. Unfortunately, it seem to still happen.

hmmmm.. I’ll look into the issue but idk if it is something to do with the platform that I developed the game on or not, which version of Java 8 are you using and are you using the Mac version or the windows one?

I am using Windows, and I have the most recent version of Java.

Sorry for the really late response, I have been dealing with uni stuff and personal issues for the past few months so I didn't give much attention to this project, I guess it may be some issues with the code that I wrote and it doesn't work well with some computers, I am not quite sure how I could fix it. I am sorry that I can not help you out on this ðŸ˜“

It's a pretty cute little slide scroller adventure story, calming and genuinely pretty relaxing. A little slow but once you get the feel of the atmosphere of the game that's not too much of an issue.

Overall nicely done, great work, :D

Can't continue the game after talking to Timothy

Hmmm... Did the game turn into a scroller view after you have finished the cutscene?

No,  it's all black

(1 edit) (+1)

After talking to Timoty, it's all black for me too.

Could you give me the basic details of your pc please? Thanks

Problem Solved. Apparently, I was using Java 8 update 251 and it was not up to date. Then I updated it to  Java 8 update 271, and it worked fine, no more black screen after speaking to Timothy.
